About
Klas focuses on thrust as the engine for movement. Both from the ground and from the partner. How to transfer "push to move", the same principle that we use when walking, to other ways of movement and even to work in a couple? We will explore this principle first through open improvisational tasks that will be given to us helped to move the body into space, and then also through phrases on the floor and in the vertical, with which we will test the principle in pre-prepared material.
Biography
Urša Sekirnik graduated from SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) in 2011, and in 2014 from Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Currently, she works between Slovenia and Spain as a creator, dancer and dance teacher. In 2010, together with Nina Jan, she co-founded the Cultural Art Association NUM (KUD NUM), which offers a creative space for artistic production, the organization of art events in the local environment and the promotion of local art at home and abroad. In 2019, she became part of the La Visiva team in Barcelona, where together with Ana Rubirola and Mireia de Querol, she prepares and performs various activities related to movement and dance creation. In addition to her own projects (Bestiari Dixit, Fent Cua / While we waited, Radio Hit,...) as a dancer, she currently collaborates with Emma Villavecchia in the projects Rítmia and NeoPicnic, and since 2016 she has been working closely with the collective Big Bouncers in the performances Plata, Plancton, O.V.N.I. and the Jungle. As a dramaturge, she also participated in Aja Zupanec's play Liter of Glitter. In the past, she was part of Jerome Bela's show The Show Must Go On and collaborated with Nina Jan, Joana Serra, Collectif PoPs, Phoebe Osborne, Jordi Ferreira, Carolina Alejos and Silvia Elgarrista, among others.
