13. 11. 2026, 15.30–18.30
Upper Hall, 180 min, no intermission
Focusing on care work is not only necessary for the survival of cultural workers, whose working conditions are notoriously precarious, it is also a radical act of acknowledging the reproductive labor which is part of making art. This workshop is an invitation to lie down, relax your jaw and re-imagine artistic production models from a queer feminist perspective.
Claire Lefèvre (she/her) is a femme choreographer, insomniac writer and reality TV enthusiast living and working in Vienna. She likes to think of herself as a hostess, welcoming collaborators and spectators into kitsch landscapes where politics and poetics are gently interwoven. Alongside her choreographic works, Claire is exploring the archetype and working methods of a performance doula, a role imagined to disinvisibilize care work in the context of performance making. Her work with text spans from poetry to grant applications, at times flirting with performance criticism, stand-up comedy or queer feminist theory. Occasionally she works as a ghost writer, but mostly because of the spectral appeal of the job title.
