About

The movement class is a combination of one's own imagination through structured technical exercises. It is based on the grounding of weight, with light and weightless quality of movement. A safe space is created where the individual is responsible for his own actions towards himself and towards the attitude of others in the space. A constant feeling of falling body, thoughts, feelings with control over every action that is performed. It consists of warm-up / improvisation, basic technical exercises performed in different qualities of movement, with the completion of all elements / combinations.

Biography

Leon Marič - born in 1991 in Slovenia. He is active on the independent dance scene, here in Slovenia, as also abroad. He began to develop his dance and artistic interests at the Art High School for Contemporary Dance in Ljubljana, where he graduated in 2010. He is currently part of the dance assets at SVŠGUGL. In 2014, he graduated from Anton Bruckner Privatuniversitat Linz, where he graduated from the direction of contemporary dance and the study of movement and performance. During his studies, he participated in several projects for Cie.Off Verticallity directed by Rose Breuss. Some Slovenian artists with whom he had the opportunity to collaborate and who influenced his artistic development are; Matjaž Farič (“No more solo” and “Synesthesia”), Magdalena Reitner (Forms of distance ”), Maja Delak and Luka Prinčič (“ Jitakami ”). In 2014, he attended the Venice Dance Biennale in Venice with choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni in the project “You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are”. She has been working with him ever since and she is part of two performances "FOLK- S will you still love me tomorrow?" in “Augusto”. As a dancer he was a part various international festivals such as; Implustanz dance festival, Biennale di Venezia, Biennale de Lyon, Jerusalem International Dance Week, No Limits Berlin, ... Among others, he collaborated with Francesco Scavetta (“Suprised body project”) Michael Turinsky (“My body your pleasure”) Akemi Takeya (“Little stories about S.O.S.”), Luke George (“Experimental freedom”), Editta Braun (“Instant”), ... In 2016, he co-authored the play “Hweol, .. In the Vortex of Time” with Jerca Rožnik Novak.
