About
WHAT: Terpsichorean Sonics opens an insight to music from a perspective of a dancer and gives fine tools on dance making and improvisation in relation to music. It develops musicality and is appropriate for beginners up to experts in any dance genre.
HOW: By studying in an open field of exploration and discovery through auditory and visual observation, exercises on body connectivity and structured dance improvisation, based on comparison of measurable characteristic of sound (duration, amplitude, pitch, timbre) and elements of music (articulation, dynamics, melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, texture, poetry, ambience) with characteristics of human movement, as depicted in LMA (body, effort, shape, space).
Biography
Ivan Mijačević, maker, performer and educator in the fields of music and performing arts, is a member of art collectives danceCO, inability crew, Slavoj Zizek trio, Two Kings and a French Town and con/temporary choreo-graphix. He has collaborated and performed with D. Alfirević, M. Bučar, K. Duck, J. Fabre, K. Lorenci, L. Nelson, S. Premuš, I. Reulecke, among others, and has thought a course on the relations of music and dance at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, Cologne University of Music and and Dance, Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Dance Academy Ljubljana, World DanceSport Federation, Carmina Slovenica, Yasmeen Godder, and other institutions.
