Digital tools are an essential part of artistic work—but have you ever considered their environmental impact?

This practical workshop explores how artists, producers and cultural workers can adopt more sustainable digital practices by using free and open source software (FLOSS), local-first technologies and digital sovereignty principles.

Together, we will explore alternatives to mainstream digital platforms, discuss greener approaches to communication and collaboration, and discover practical tools that support a more sustainable and independent digital workflow.

During the workshop you will:

  • discover how your choice of digital tools affects the environment;
  • learn the basics of digital sustainability and digital sovereignty;
  • explore free and open source alternatives for everyday work;
  • receive practical resources that you can immediately apply in your own artistic and organisational practice.

The workshop is organised within the Creative Europe project Brave Creative Producers and is free of charge.
