Leon Marič

dancer, performer, dance pedagogue

Leon Marič (1991) is a dancer, performer and dance teacher who is active in the independent scene and collaborates with renowned dancers and choreographers. In his artistic practice, he is primarily concerned with creating, shaping and experiencing different communities within already established and consolidated structures.


He began to develop his dance and artistic interests at the Performing Arts Grammar School in Ljubljana, where he graduated in 2010. In 2014, he completed his studies in contemporary dance, movement and performance at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. Since 2019 he has been teaching at the Preschool Education, Grammar and Performing Arts School in Ljubljana and has joined the collective The Feminalz, that createc technoburlesque Image Snatchers in 2020.

He has worked with the following Slovenian artists, who have also influenced his artistic development Maja Delak, Nataša Živković, Jan Rozman, Matjaž Farič, Magdalena Reitner, Luka Prinčič, Varja Hrvatin, Jerca Rožnik Novak. He has worked with Francesco Scavetta, Alessandra Sciarroni, Marco D’Agostin, Michael Turinsky, Akemi Takeya, Luke George and Editta Braun, among others. He has taken part in various international dance festivals, including the Implustanz Dance Festival, the Biennale di Venezia, the Biennale de Lyon, the Jerusalem International Dance Week, No Limits Berlin, Bienal Sesc de Dança and the Spielart Festival.
