Joana Serra

Interdisciplinarna umetnica Joana Serra (Barcelona, 1984) deluje na področjih uprizoritvenih umetnosti in umetniške instalacije. V ospredju njenega dela je raziskava luči, prostora in telesa. Leta 2010 je diplomirala na Experimental Academy of Dance v Salzburgu, leta 2012 pa končala študij lučnega oblikovanja na Escenica Técnica Granada. Na področju umetniške instalacije se je dodatno izobraževala pri Irmi Marco, na področju oblikovanja luči pa pri Ani Rovira, Thomasu Bourreausu in Valentínu Álvarezu.

Kot oblikovalka luči na področjih sodobnega plesa, novega cirkusa in novih dramaturgij je sodelovala z ustvarjalci kot so Pep Pla y Miriam Iscla, Big Bouncers, Federica Porello, Roser López, Magí Serra, Joan Català, Urša Sekirnik, Pollo Campero, Marcio Cannabarro, Laia Santanach, Joao Lima itd.

Od leta 2018 skupaj z ustanoviteljem Quimom Girónom in Joan Cot Ros umetniško vodi skupino Animal Religion, s katero že od njene ustanovitve sodeluje kot oblikovalka luči, tehnična vodja in v eni od predstav tudi kot performerka.

Leta 2019 je začela delati na projektu Range of Light – In-between, v katerem raziskuje možnosti konceptualnega zlitja svetlobe, spola in telesa v nove perspektive scenske dramaturgije, pri čemer poskuša ostati odprta za nove vhodne točke in raznovrstnost v mišljenju novih performativnosti.

Joana Serra (1984, Barcelona) is an interdiciplinary creator working with light, space and body in the areas of performing arts and installation. She graduated in contemporary dance and composition from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2010 and in 2012 also finished light design studies at Escenica Técnica Granada. She continues studying with Irma Marco in art installation and with Ana Rovira, Thomas Bourreaus and Valentín Álvarez in light design. 

As light designer in the fields of contemporary dance, new circus and new dramaturgies, she has worked with Pep Pla y Miriam Iscla, Big Bouncers, Federica Porello, Roser López, Magí Serra, Joan Català, Ursa Sekirnik, Pollo Campero, Marcio Cannabarro, Laia Santanach and Joao Lima, among others.

Since 2018, she has been co-director of the company Animal Religion with Quim Girón (founder) and Joan Cot Ros. She has been part of the company since its foundation as a light designer, technical director and also performed in one show.

In 2019, she started the project Range of Grey – In-between with the intention of researching and conceptually merging light, gender and body in a new perspective in scenic dramaturgy, always interested in opening doors and diversities in the thought of light and new performativities.
