2012

Matija Ferlin: Sad Sam /Almost 6/

13.,14. and 15.07. - Santarcangelo, Piazza, IT

autumn dates:
09.,10. and 11.11. - Le Colombier, Bagnolet, FR; presented by Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis in the frame of "Croatie la voici"
23.11. - Dansem 2012, Marseille, FR

In his solo performance sad sam /almost 6/ Matija Ferlin wants to investigate a mind of a child that is not conditioned by anything, not even by his own existence. While growing up, the conscience of the existence creates numerous “terrorizing” facts that are results of social conditions and constraints. All fictitious childhood characters become enemies. The fact that we have to grow up results in imperfections that make our lives and modes of existence specific and individual.

Matija Ferlin: Sad Sam Lucky

22.07.2012 - Festival of dance and non-verbal theater, San Vincenti, HR

Ferlin’s performance Sad Sam Lucky is a physical response to the work of the Slovenian avant-garde poet Srečko Kosovel (1904 – 1926) whose confessional poetry is profound, contemporary in its spirit, internal tension and stylistic imagery, at the same time revolutionary in its ideas, brimming with immediate reflections of his personality, deeply touching and poetically invaluable.
Driven by the lasting relevance of Kosovel’s verses, his honesty, melancholic prophecy and sentimental tragedy – Ferlin in SAD SAM Lucky creates a form of a highly physical, turbulent and emotional homage to this very unique avant-garde author.

The 2 year pilot program is a network of twelve European dance educators who will meet regularly for exchange, peer research and for the development of an online database. The aim of the online database is to become a useful tool for contemporary dance educators worldwide.
The meetings of these European dance educators and the database development will be accompanied by local workshops at each partner organisation for the benefit of regional key teachers. These workshops will result in a meeting of all 100+ key teachers at Ponderosa, Stolzenhagen (Ger) in summer 2012.
